Job summary

SpartanNash is seeking a Meat Cutter Apprentice at our Fenton, Michigan location to cut meats to standard cuts and prepare related products per department guidelines. The role supports store profitability while maintaining quality and safety standards.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of retail experience (meat cutting preferred), plus basic math and the ability to follow recipes and instructions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of retail or related experience; meat cutter apprentice preferred.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend and interpret documents.
• Basic mathematical skills for weight, pricing and measurement.
• Detail oriented with careful knife handling and portion control.

Responsibilities

• Cut and weigh steaks, chops, and other meats to specified portions.
• Prepare value-added products per guidelines and recipes.
• Cut, trim, and bone carcass sections into cooking cuts.
• Grind and tray meats; make sausage and other products as directed.
• Price, date, wrap, and bag meat products per guidelines.
• Fill, rotate, and merchandise shelves and displays; notify manager for orders.
