Job summary

Three Bears Alaska Inc. is seeking a Meat Clerk in Ketchikan, AK, an entry-level developmental role learning to advance into a Meat Cutter position. You will assist with packaging, labeling, stocking, rotation, and basic production while delivering friendly customer service.

Responsibilities include operating wrapping machines and scales, maintaining clean, organized displays and cold storage areas, and strict adherence to food safety and sanitation standards, with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Food Handling Certification as required by local, state or federal regulations.
• Preferred: Previous grocery, retail, food service, seafood processing, warehouse, or meat department experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, courteous, and professional customer service, including assisting customers with product selection and basic questions.
• Assist with department setup, preparation, packaging, labeling, stocking, grinding, merchandising, and product rotation.
• Operate wrapping machines, labelers, scales, and other approved department equipment.
• Maintain attractive, fully stocked sales displays and organized cooler, freezer, and backstock areas.
• Inspect products for freshness, dating, and saleability and report concerns to leadership.
• Maintain food safety, sanitation, health code, and safety standards; proper handling and storage.
