The Measurement Technician is responsible for monitoring and maintaining gas metering and regulating equipment, as well as support systems such as RTU, heaters, control valves, and gas quality instruments.

Here’s What You Will Do

The first level, “Measurement Technician I,” is an entry-level position focused on developing core skills and applying them safely.

Responsibilities
  • Perform gas flow and meter calculations.
  • Test, inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot various meters and pressure devices.
  • Test and maintain pneumatic control devices, RTUs, EGM systems, and gas analyzers.
  • Perform routine maintenance on odorizer systems, operate power supply systems, and identify pipe and fittings.
  • Ensure electrical installations meet codes and standards.
  • Install small diameter instrument piping and maintain test equipment.
  • Operate and maintain in-line heaters and complete reports accurately.
  • Write gas handling procedures and direct other employees in routine activities.
  • Recognize and react to abnormal conditions, assist in planning, and participate in safety programs.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and external regulations.
  • Perform all other assigned duties.
Who You Are

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Associate degree or equivalent experience in a technical field.
  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding activities in all weather conditions.
  • Residency within 30 miles of reporting location.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, shifts, and travel overnight.

  • Desire to learn and advance.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of maintenance operations and proficiency with office software.
  • Safety-conscious and innovative problem solver.
Physical and Mental Requirements

Includes balancing, bending, climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, visual and hearing requirements, and the ability to understand and follow instructions, organize work, and communicate effectively.
