Job summary

The SC Commission for the Blind (SCCB) is hiring a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor to provide services to consumers who are blind or visually impaired. The role aims to achieve meaningful employment and greater independence, coordinating with Employment Consultants and community partners.

Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree in a related field and experience in career counseling or case management, with a Master’s in Rehabilitation Counseling preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and experience in career counseling or related case management.
• Master's Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling or a combination of related Master's Degrees.
• Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC).

Responsibilities

• Provide Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling and guidance and service coordination to blind and visually impaired consumers leading to competitive integrated employment.
• Create and maintain relationships with community partners, other state agencies, businesses, and referral sources; assist with agency events.
• Determine eligibility of assigned Vocational Rehabilitation cases and develop an Individualized Plan for Employment (IPE).
• Input case data accurately into the case management system for federal/state reporting.
