Job summary

DelDOT is seeking a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor to coordinate and provide services that lead to employment for individuals with disabilities. The role involves assessing eligibility, developing rehabilitation plans, and guiding clients through the employment process while navigating barriers and coordinating with multiple agencies.

Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive assessments, documenting progress, and maintaining records.

Qualifications

• Possession of a relevant bachelor's or master’s degree as specified for each Counselor level.
• Coursework or experience in case management, including assessment, planning, monitoring, and evaluating services.
• Experience or coursework in health or human services programs to help individuals, families, or communities.
• Experience in narrative report writing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provides specialized vocational rehabilitation services, counseling, and support to clients and family members to promote employment and independence.
• Conducts interviews and comprehensive assessments to identify aptitudes, abilities, education, interests, and data.
• evaluates employment, medical, psychological, and vocational information to determine eligibility and needed services.
• Develops employment rehabilitation plans with services, performance measures, and goals.
• Identifies barriers to employment and works with clients to overcome them.
• Coordinates services with agencies, medical facilities, educational institutions, and community resources.
• Maintains records and uses case management systems to document outcomes.
