Job summary

Trane Technologies invites a co-op student to join the Design-to-Order (DTO) team in Grand Rapids, MI. You will collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and controls engineers and work with 2D/3D CAD designers to verify part fit in assemblies and maintain accurate engineering BOMs.

You will interface with suppliers and testing services to support validation and act as a liaison between DTO members and manufacturing and quality engineers to help resolve issues.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS/BA degree in mechanical engineering.
• Ability to work with others to produce results in a positive work environment.
• Willingness to seek new information, skills, and experiences.
• Strong interest in pursuing training opportunities to learn product development in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

• Work with 2D and 3D CAD designers to verify part fit up in assemblies.
• Ensure accuracy of engineering Bill of Materials.
• Interface with external parts suppliers and engineering testing services to support product validation.
• Act as a liaison between DTO team members and manufacturing and quality engineers to help resolve issues.
