Job summary

Trane Technologies in Grand Rapids, MI, is offering a co-op in the Design-to-Order (DTO) team. You will work with mechanical, electrical, and controls engineers to translate customer requirements into designs that can be handed to manufacturing.

You will collaborate with sales and product engineering, verify part fit in assemblies with 2D/3D CAD designers, and help ensure BOM accuracy while learning product development in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS/BA degree in mechanical engineering.
• Ability to work with others to produce results in a positive work environment.
• Willingness to seek new information, skills and experiences.

Responsibilities

• Work with CAD designers to verify part fit in assemblies.
• Ensure accuracy of the engineering bill of materials.
• Interface with suppliers and testing services for product validation.
• Liaise between DTO team and manufacturing/quality engineers to resolve issues.
