Job summary

fingerlakes seeks a registered nurse (RN) to coordinate Medicare assessments, care planning and reimbursement activities under the Director of Nursing-LTC. This role ensures regulatory compliance for the facility and requires strong leadership and confidentiality.

Education includes RN diploma with NY license; BSN preferred. Experience with MDS, PRI, and reimbursement documentation is essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and care-planning software.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a Registered Professional Nursing Program.
• Current New York State Registered Professional Nurse license.
• MDS and PRI certifications preferred; BLS through RQI on hire.
• Knowledge of reimbursement documentation and DOH regulations; survey processes.

Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Director of Nursing-LTC, coordinates all Medicare assessments, care planning and reimbursement activities for the facility to assure compliance with regulatory agencies.

EDUCATION: Minimum:

• Graduate from a Registered Professional Nursing Program.
• Preferred: BSN

LICENSE: Minimum:

• Current New York State Registered Professional Nurse license

PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS: Preferred:

• Certification in MDS and PRI
• Minimum: BLS through RQI upon hire

WORK EXPERIENCE: Minimum:

• Familiarity with documentation requirements for reimbursement.
• Knowledge of New York State Department of Health regulations, and survey process.
• MDS, and care planning experience.

SKILLS: Minimum:

• Demonstrated leadership abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and ability to deal with the public in a professional and courteous manner.
