Job summary

Central Queens Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking an RN with Medicare knowledge and DS/MDS credentials to oversee Medicare determinations and documentation. The role involves coordinating MDS+ assessments, care planning practices, and quarterly CMIs for RUG reimbursements.

The candidate should hold NY RN license, and DS/MDS/PRI certifications are preferred. Excellent communication and computer skills are required to collaborate with Nursing, Business Office, Social Services, residents,

Qualifications

• DS experience preferred
• MDS certification preferred
• PRI Certification preferred
• NY State RN License

Responsibilities

• Ensures all Medicare determinations are completed in a timely manner.
• Informs the Director of Nursing, Business Office and Social Service of all Medicare Determinations and Discontinuation of coverage.
• Assess that necessary documentation required for Medicare coverage is completed.
• Responsible for completion of Certification and Recertification forms and skilled care forms.
• Coordinates the resident assessment (MDS+) and the care planning practices (RAPS).
• Coordinates the quarterly preparation and submission of CMIs for RUG reimbursements
• Completes MDS assessments as needed
