Job summary

Concord University seeks a McNair Program Associate to help develop and coordinate graduate school prep and undergraduate research activities across campus. You will work with staff, faculty, graduate students, and others to assist McNair Scholars with research projects and graduate applications.

The role focuses on financial monitoring, program coordination, outreach, and maintaining resources while ensuring compliance with federal guidelines and program goals.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with Department of Education grant regulations.
• Work experience or background in a TRIO program.
• Familiarity with undergraduate research programs.
• Familiarity with graduate program application preparations.
• Proficiency with university computer systems.
• Ability to communicate clearly with students, faculty, staff, and campus partners.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain records, and meet deadlines.
• Experience working with student populations, including first‑generation and underrepresented students.
• Ability to handle scheduling, documentation, data entry, and program logistics.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality, follow federal guidelines, and represent the program positively.

Responsibilities

• Financial monitoring and reconciliation for the grant in coordination with the Business Office.
• Serve as initial point of contact for students and campus partners.
• Assist with planning graduate school preparation and undergraduate research.
• Assist with outreach to raise program visibility on campus.
• Maintain program resources and review student materials for applications.
• Support implementation of program activities, seminars, and events.
• Collaborate to maintain the McNair Scholars website.
• Assist with recruitment and tracking of applicant data.
• Provide logistical support for travel and events.
• Maintain accurate program records for reporting.
• Monitor campus information to support program development.
