Job summary

The University of Wisconsin seeks a McNair Scholars Program Coordinator to support students and ensure program goals align with the Department of Education TRIO McNair grant requirements. The role reports to the Program Director and involves coordinating travel, conferences, and graduate program planning.

Qualifications

• Research-based master’s degree.
• ≥2 years experience in college or university student services.
• Understanding of challenges faced by the target student population and experience supporting their success.
• Demonstrated oral and written communication skills and strong attention to detail.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive on University/State business.

Responsibilities

• Support students and ensure program compliance with grant goals.
• Provide student advising for graduate school and program preparation.
• Coordinate recruitment, open houses, and information sessions.
• Supervise staff including Administrative Assistant and student workers.
• Track program data and prepare reports for Director and federal assessment.
• Plan travel, events, and cultural/academic enrichment aligned with TRIO goals.
• Develop curriculum and provide instruction as needed.
