Job summary

G2 Ops, Inc. is seeking a Model Based System Engineer in San Diego to join a team building the Navy’s first Submarine Communications shore platform models.

You’ll apply MBSE and digital engineering to create authoritative system models for engineers and stakeholders, enabling Digital Engineering across the submarine communications portfolio. The role requires MBSE experience, a math/engineering degree, 3+ years in systems engineering, and an active DoD clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, engineering, or related discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in systems engineering or MBSE.
• Experience developing and maintaining system models using Cameo Systems Modeler.
• Ability to develop clear, accurate system architectures and models.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Active DoD Secret clearance at start, with ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Submarine Communications shore platform models using Cameo Systems Modeler.
• Apply MBSE methods to capture architecture, requirements, interfaces, relationships, and technical information.
• Build and maintain platform models as authoritative sources of truth for engineering teams.
• Support the Navy’s transition to Digital Engineering through consistent, reusable models.
• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to ensure models reflect architecture and requirements.
• Maintain model quality, traceability, and configuration across platforms.
• Use model data to support analysis and technical decision-making.
• Identify opportunities to improve modeling practices and workflows.
• Contribute to the reliability and effectiveness of submarine communications infrastructure.
