Job summary

CAE USA is seeking an experienced System Architect for the C-17 Training System program. The role focuses on MBSE-driven design, integration of mission systems and aircraft subsystems, and ensuring high‑fidelity simulation environments.

The candidate will collaborate with software, hardware, cyber security, and certification teams to maintain scalable architectures while managing cost and risk. U.S. citizenship and DoD alignment are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Computer or Computer Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of systems engineering experience for military aircraft, mission systems, or advanced simulation/training systems.
• Strong MBSE practices and tools (Cameo/MagicDraw, Rhapsody, SysML).
• Ability to lead architecture development for complex, multidisciplinary systems.
• Experience with aircraft system integration, avionics interfaces, or mission system architectures.
• Familiarity with DoD processes, MIL-STDs, and training system standards (AR/VR, DIS/HLA).
• Active Secret clearance (U.S. citizens only).

Responsibilities

• Lead system architecture development for advanced aircraft and mission system simulations using MBSE and SysML-based digital engineering.
• Develop and maintain system models for requirements decomposition, system behaviors, interfaces and verification.
• Define and evolve simulation architectures integrating avionics, flight dynamics, mission systems and networks.
• Collaborate with engineers, SMEs, and training-system developers for scalable representations.
• Support trade studies and design decisions for fidelity, performance and interoperability.
• Ensure architecture compliance with safety, cybersecurity and DoD training specs.
• Mentor staff in MBSE, governance and model-based design processes.
• Participate in customer engagements and design reviews.
