Job summary

CAE Defense & Security is seeking an experienced System Architect for our C-17 Training System program with deep MBSE expertise to drive the design, integration, and evolution of advanced simulation and training solutions for complex military aircraft and defense platforms.

This role requires collaboration with software, hardware, cybersecurity, and certification teams to ensure seamless integration of flight dynamics, avionics, and mission systems, while maintaining cost and scalability.

Qualifications

• MBSE expertise and digital engineering practices.
• Lead architecture development for complex, multidisciplinary systems.
• Experience with aircraft systems integration and avionics.
• Familiarity with DoD processes, MIL-STDs, and training standards.
• Must be eligible for DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead system architecture development for advanced aircraft and mission system simulations using MBSE.
• Develop and maintain models for requirements, behavior, interfaces, and verification.
• Define architectures that integrate avionics, flight dynamics, mission systems, and C4ISR.
• Collaborate with SMEs, software engineers, and training developers for scalable simulations.
• Support trade studies and design decisions for fidelity, interoperability, and scalability.
• Ensure architecture compliance with safety, cybersecurity, and interoperability standards.
• Mentor staff in MBSE, governance, and model-based design.
• Engage with customers in technical meetings and reviews.
• Create digital architecture artifacts for the lifecycle digital thread.
• Guide design decisions to align with business goals.
