Job summary

Summit Public Schools is seeking an in-person Math Intervention Tutor to provide targeted small-group and 1:1 support, aligning materials with the district’s math curriculum and aiding students in reaching grade-level expectations. The role focuses on monitoring progress and coordinating with Lead Teachers and site leaders.

The tutor will pre-teach and re-teach concepts, adapting sessions based on data from assessments and roadmaps. Travel across California sites is required.

Qualifications

• Experience tutoring or mentoring middle or high school students.
• Ability to implement established lessons and adjust to student needs.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with teachers and staff.
• Ability to build meaningful relationships and foster a supportive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Guide students through targeted practice in foundational math skills and vocabulary.
• Pre-teach and re-teach concepts to align with core lessons.
• Align tutoring with grade-level curriculum for coherence with instruction.
• Deliver small-group and individual tutoring during specific blocks.
• Use assessment data to adjust tutoring strategies under guidance.
