Job summary

Summit Public Schools in California seeks a Math Intervention Tutor to provide targeted, high-impact support for students not meeting grade-level expectations. You will work with Lead Teachers and a Manager of Math Practice to deliver math interventions aligned with Illustrative Math and Teach to One.

In-person role across CA sites, using data to tailor instruction, track progress, and communicate with site leadership. Bachelor’s degree preferred; Spanish proficiency is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience tutoring or mentoring middle/high school students.
• Ability to implement established lessons and respond to student needs.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Commitment to equity and culturally responsive teaching.
• Ability to track student progress and use data to adjust instruction.
• Spanish language proficiency is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Guide students through targeted math practice and vocabulary.
• Pre-teach and re-teach concepts to access core instruction.
• Align tutoring to grade-level curriculum for coherence.
• Deliver small-group and individual tutoring during SDL and other blocks.
• Use assessment data to adjust tutoring strategies with Manager of Math Practice.
• Coordinate with teachers to share progress and align with school goals.
• Help students set math goals and monitor progress.
• Maintain daily progress trackers for leadership visibility.
• Participate in site observations and professional development.
