Job summary

Choice Schools Associates seeks a Mathematics Specialist to lead the network's K-12 math instruction, partnering with school leaders, coaches, and the Academic Excellence Team to strengthen curriculum, assessments, and professional learning.

The role features district/state assessment planning, MTSS collaboration, and a focus on curriculum, interventions, and effective teaching practices across campuses.

Qualifications

• Valid Michigan Professional Teaching Certificate.
• Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience, preferably in elementary or intermediate grades.
• Demonstrated knowledge of mathematics instruction, curriculum development, assessment practices, and instructional coaching.
• Experience analyzing student achievement data to drive instructional improvement.
• Strong presentation, communication, and facilitation skills.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace and educational technology tools.
• Ability to build collaborative relationships with teachers, school leaders, and district administrators.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, implementation, and continuous improvement of K-12 math programs and practices.
• Support schools in implementing standards-aligned math curriculum, resources, and assessments.
• Collaborate with leaders to analyze student data and set instructional priorities.
• Lead selection, implementation, and evaluation of math curriculum, interventions, and materials.
• Design and facilitate professional development focused on math instruction and research-based teaching.
• Coach instructional leaders to strengthen classroom instruction and outcomes.
• Collaborate with MTSS team to strengthen MTSS for math (Tier II/III).
• Support district/state assessment planning and data analysis.
• Oversee the teacher mentoring program ensuring constructive coaching.
• Build relationships with school leaders, staff, and departments.
• Stay current on research and state initiatives related to math education.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
