Job summary

Choice Schools Associates seeks a Mathematics Specialist to lead math instruction across the network, partnering with school leaders, coaches, and the Academic Excellence Team to strengthen curriculum, assessments, and professional learning. The role drives student achievement and coordinates the mentoring program for teachers.

Travel between Choice Schools campuses is required; the position emphasizes collaboration, data analysis, and evidence-based practices to sustain instructional excellence

Qualifications

• Valid Michigan Professional Teaching Certificate.
• Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience.
• Knowledge of mathematics instruction, curriculum development, assessment practices, and instructional coaching.
• Experience analyzing student achievement data to drive instructional improvement.
• Strong presentation, communication, and facilitation skills.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace and educational technology tools.
• Ability to build collaborative relationships with teachers, school leaders, and district administrators.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for development, implementation, and improvement of K-12 mathematics programs.
• Support schools with standards-aligned curriculum, instructional resources, and assessments.
• Collaborate to analyze student achievement data and identify instructional priorities.
• Lead selection, implementation, and evaluation of mathematics curriculum and interventions.
• Design and facilitate professional development on math instruction and research-based teaching.
• Coach instructional leaders to strengthen classroom instruction and student outcomes.
• Strengthen MTSS for mathematics, including Tier II and III interventions.
• Support district and state assessment planning, implementation, and data analysis.
• Oversee the teacher mentoring program and provide coaching to new educators.
• Build strong relationships with school leaders, staff, and departments.
• Stay current on research and state initiatives in mathematics education.
