Portsmouth Public Schools seeks a Program Specialist- Mathematics (Secondary) to lead curriculum and instructional initiatives in mathematics across the district. The role involves school visits, co-planning with teachers, and professional development to advance math instruction.

Requires a Master’s in Education or related field, at least five years of classroom teaching experience, and a math specialist endorsement preferred.

• Comprehensive knowledge of mathematics and instructional strategies.
• Ability to develop and present ideas effectively, orally and in writing.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with principals, staff and the public.

Responsabilités

• Coordinate development, implementation and coordination of mathematics curriculum and programs.
• Conduct school visits to monitor mathematics instruction.
• Collaborate with teachers in co-planning and co-teaching model lessons and provide feedback.
• Analyze mathematics data to set benchmarks and monitor improvements.
• Develop and coordinate professional development for teachers on best practices and resources.
• Assist with evaluating textbooks and instructional materials.
• Integrate vocational, technical and academic skills within the instructional program.
• Stay current with trends in mathematics education through professional activities.
