Job summary

Boston Public Schools seeks a highly qualified Mathematics and Moderate Disabilities/Inclusion teacher (Grade 7-8) for a long-term substitute position starting 9/14/2026 and ending 10/14/2026. Per diem pay applies to substitutes, with SEI endorsement preferred.

The role emphasizes high expectations, equitable access to instruction, and closing achievement gaps, within a supportive urban school community. Reports to the principal and collaborates with staff.

Qualifications

• Hold a Bachelor's degree and MA teaching license in the appropriate content area with Moderate Disabilities for the grade.
• ESL or SEI endorsement required.
• Must meet state/federal guidelines to be fully licensed and highly qualified.

Responsibilities

• Implement district goals aligned to state frameworks and develop student portfolios.
• Provide small-group instruction to students with moderate to severe cognitive delays within the general curriculum.
• Write and implement IEP goals, provide progress reports, and monitor student progress.
• Provide accommodations for learning and testing; develop curriculum and assess progress for MCAS Alternative.
• Collaborate with school staff to support modifications for student needs.
• Assist with transition planning to adult living services as appropriate.
