Job summary

GE Vernova in Greenville, SC is seeking an engineer to own end-to-end mechanical testing programs for our Gas Power team. You will design and execute tests, manage schedules and budgets, and communicate results to stakeholders to influence product design.

You will bridge lab data with design, analyze results for material properties, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive safe, efficient technologies to market. A hands-on communicator with a passion for data will thrive.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited college or university
• 0-2 years of relevant experience in engineering

Responsibilities

• Design and execute comprehensive mechanical testing programs including tensile, fatigue, creep, fracture toughness, and environmental exposure testing
• Manage testing schedules, budgets, and vendor relationships for internal/external testing facilities
• Analyze test data to extract material properties and identify trends
• Perform microscopic evaluation of metallurgical structures of tested material to enhance prediction capability
• Generate technical reports and presentations communicating test results, trends, and recommendations to stakeholders
