Job summary

Leidos LLC in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Materials and Process Engineer to support the Advanced Materials Department. The role focuses on mechanical testing, composites, and materials research across multiple programs. Candidates should have a ABET-accredited degree and 4+ years of experience or an MS with 2+ years, and be prepared to operate on-site in a fast-paced environment.

U.S. citizens with the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret Clearance are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Materials, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (ABET accredited).
• 4+ years of experience or MS with 2+ years in relevant field.
• Experience with mechanical testing of engineering materials.

Responsibilities

• Conduct mechanical testing of materials from specimen to full-scale articles.
• Support composites R&D, thermal protection systems, and hypersonics programs.
• Guide research across teams to meet program objectives and schedules.
• Investigate test outcomes and propose resolutions to the program team.
• Direct testing and reporting for material test programs.
• Liaise among program, technical, and exterior teams.
