Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in materials/chemical engineering with 9+ years experience; or 7+ years with a graduate degree; or 13+ years with no degree.
• 4 years experience with polymeric materials.

Responsibilities

• Provide material selection recommendations and create material specifications; review drawings and manufacturing plans; support boards and meetings.
• Develop test plans and characterize non-metallic materials; analyze material properties; establish design allowables per industry standards.
• Perform engineering analysis of non-conforming hardware; coordinate MRB disposition; support customer communications on obsolescence and investigations.
• Provide on-site support at manufacturing facilities and supplier sites to troubleshoot production issues.
• Collaborate with Design/Manufacturing to develop robust processes for solid rocket motor components and address corrosion protection.
• Support PMP requirements and documentation; participate in Customer PMP Control Board meetings; travel 15%.
