Job summary

Leidos Defense, Systems Integration and Test Team in Huntsville is seeking a Senior Mechanical Test Engineer to lead structural testing activities for mechanical components and assemblies. You will develop test plans, collect data, interpret results, and report findings while collaborating across mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing disciplines.

Ideal candidates will have an ABET-accredited B.S. in mechanical engineering with eight or more years of relevant experience, strong communication

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited B.S. or equivalent degree in mechanical engineering or closely related field.
• Eight or more years of relevant engineering experience in mechanical engineering, structural testing, system integration and test, or hardware verification.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate across mechanical, systems, electrical, manufacturing, and test engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, execute, and evaluate structural tests for mechanical components and assemblies.
• Develop and review structural test plans, procedures, and data collection requirements.
• Identify anomalies and issues in test results and recommend corrective actions.
• Support system-level integration and test activities and verify interfaces function as intended.
• Translate requirements and specifications into executable test procedures.
• Prepare comprehensive test reports documenting objectives, configurations, results, and conclusions.
• Maintain accurate records of hardware, test conditions, and calibration status.
