Job summary

Kenworth Truck Company, a PACCAR division in Renton, WA, seeks a Materials Planning Supervisor. You will lead inventory planning and supplier expediting, collaborating with Operations, Purchasing, Logistics and Engineering to meet production goals.

You will develop procurement processes, manage inventory accuracy and schedule product work orders, while coaching staff and driving improvements across the supply base.

Qualifications

• Experience in inventory planning and supplier expediting
• Ability to establish and manage supplier relationships
• Strong coordination with Operations, Purchasing, Suppliers, Logistics, and Engineering

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train and direct in inventory planning and supplier expediting.
• Establish supplier relationships and identify methods to ensure deliveries and improvements.
• Assist Management in planning and directing the material planning group to meet objectives and satisfy customer needs.
• Assist interfaces with Operations, Purchasing, Suppliers, Logistics, and Engineering.
• Plan, initiate, and maintain a material procurement process for least cost, quality and timely delivery.
• Manage inventory and records accuracy through shortages, follow-ups and on-hands.
• Develop and direct internal/external material flow planning to meet production and parts needs.
• Provide direct support to manufacturing by managing incoming requirements and scheduling work orders.
• Assist and coordinate efficient supply-base management.
• Participate in supplier-quality improvements efforts.
• Establish and implement training programs for Material Control Department.
• Coordinate, train and assist Material Control Staff.
• Develop staff skills through evaluative thinking, problem solving and team building.
• Develop, review and provide performance evaluations with staff.
