Job summary

Amcor is seeking a Materials Planner in the United States (California region) to manage materials and equipment capacity, purchase orders for raw materials, and production scheduling to meet inventory and delivery objectives. This role emphasizes safety, data integrity in SAP, and collaboration across procurement and production teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Ops Management or related field or equivalent
• 3–5 years scheduling experience in manufacturing
• Knowledge of purchasing/accounting processes
• Understanding of operating profit and working capital drivers related to materials planning
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Working knowledge of SAP system and basic procurement tools

Responsibilities

• Lead safety-conscious planning and scheduling for materials to meet production and delivery goals
• Manage purchase orders for raw materials and track lead times and ship dates
• Maintain internal/external PO logs and update SAP accordingly
• Enter and manage SAP orders and materials data
• Coordinate transfer of raw materials between plants to support production schedules
• Collaborate with procurement to secure materials across plants
• Monitor inventory levels and optimize FIFO usage
• Contribute to KPI reporting and cost-saving initiatives
• Provide back-up support to other Materials Planning roles as needed
