Job summary

DTNA's Materials Supervisors lead the movement of materials throughout operations to support production at Daimler Truck North America in Gaffney, SC. You will supervise shipping/receiving, storage, kitting, sequencing, delivery, expediting and auditing to ensure on-time, correct parts in good condition.

You will develop team members, pursue safety, quality and cost improvements, and drive Lean manufacturing initiatives.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in business administration or logistics/supply chain management, 4 years preferred or 6+ years leading a team in a high-volume manufacturing or logistics setting.
• Demonstrated teamwork skills, including cross-functional collaboration
• A full understanding of operations (production, quality, facilities, materials, etc.).
• Project Management
• Microsoft Office (including Microsoft Project)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Lead shipping/receiving processes, material storage, kitting, sequencing, delivery, expediting, disposition, auditing, and other materials activities.
• Drive improvement in safety, quality, delivery, cost, morale, and environmental performance while developing team member skills.
• Track time and absenteeism daily for shop floor employees using Kronos.
• Track, analyze, and manage the materials scorecard to ensure operational success.
• Manage Hours per Vehicle through manpower planning, overtime management, and balancing activities.
• Understand and implement Lean Manufacturing concepts with TOS group to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
• Support and implement programs focused on improving efficiencies and reducing costs.
• Conduct daily and weekly safety inspections and document ideas in Enablon Safety Database.
• Participate in selection, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance management of department employees.
• Analyze departmental performance metrics and prepare reports for management.
• Co-manage local truck schedules and driver activities for inbound/outbound material movement.
• Partner with third-party groups to ensure quality and execution within materials delivery processes.
• Participate in establishing strategic initiatives and departmental improvement objectives.
• Develop team members to be effective problem solvers and drivers of continuous improvement.
