Job summary

Daimler Truck North America in Gaffney, SC seeks a Materials Supervisor to lead shipping, receiving, storage, sequencing, and delivery of parts to support production. You will develop team members and drive continuous improvement to reduce shortages and boost KPI performance.

The role emphasizes Lean initiatives, HPV optimization, and collaboration with logistics providers to sustain smooth operations on the shop floor. Onsite relocation is required for this position.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in business administration or logistics/supply chain management; 4 years of relevant experience preferred or 6+ years leading a team in a high-volume setting.
• Demonstrated teamwork and cross-functional collaboration.
• Understanding of operations including production, quality, facilities, materials, etc.
• Project management experience and proficiency with MS Project.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead shipping/receiving processes, material storage, kitting, sequencing, delivery, expediting, and disposition to support production and inventory control.
• Drive safety, quality, delivery, cost, morale, and environmental performance while developing team capabilities.
• Track time/attendance using Kronos and manage workforce efficiency.
• Analyze materials scorecard to prevent shortages and reduce disruptions.
• Oversee HPV (Hours per Vehicle) through manpower planning and overtime management.
• Support Lean Manufacturing and Toyota Production System initiatives to improve efficiency.
