Job summary

Daimler Truck North America in Gaffney, SC is seeking a Materials Supervisor to lead shipping/receiving, storage, sequencing, delivery, and expediting to support production excellence. You will mentor a team, drive safety, quality, delivery, cost, and inventory improvements, and monitor KPIs to sustain operations.

You’ll implement Lean and Truck Operating System concepts, manage HPV, collaborate with carriers, and ensure efficient material movement with Kronos time tracking and ERP systems.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in business administration or logistics/supply chain management and 4 years of relevant experience preferred or 6+ years leading teams in manufacturing or logistics.
• Demonstrated teamwork skills and cross-functional collaboration.
• Understanding of operations (production, quality, facilities, materials).
• Experience with project management and MS Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead shipping/receiving, material storage, kitting, sequencing, delivery, expediting, disposition, auditing, and other materials activities.
• Drive safety, quality, delivery, cost, morale, and environmental performance while developing team members.
• Track time/absenteeism using Kronos and manage the materials scorecard for operational success.
• Manage Hours per Vehicle via manpower planning, overtime, and job balancing.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing concepts with the Truck Operating System to improve efficiency and eliminate waste.
• Support programs and procedures to improve efficiencies and performance; conduct safety inspections and document improvement opportunities.
