Job summary

Reading Truck, a leading manufacturer of premium truck bodies, is seeking a Materials Lead to guide Materials team across kitting, shipping/receiving, inventory control and material handling to meet safety, quality and on-time targets. You will provide day-to-day leadership, training, and coordination with Production, Scheduling, Purchasing and other departments to resolve shortages and optimize workflows.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous manufacturing, warehouse, distribution, or materials experience required.
• Experience in Materials, Kitting, Shipping and Receiving, Inventory Control, or Material Handling preferred.
• Previous Lead or team leadership experience preferred.
• Experience assigning work, training employees, and coordinating daily workflow preferred.
• Working knowledge of inventory control and material movement processes preferred.
• Experience using an ERP, MRP, warehouse management, or inventory system preferred.
• Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, dollies, or other material-handling equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead Materials department daily activities, including Kitting, Shipping & Receiving, Inventory Control, and Material Handling, to support production and customer requirements.
• Coordinate receipt, storage, movement, kitting, and shipment of materials with inventory accuracy and proper shipping documentation.
• Provide day-to-day leadership, training, and coaching to Materials team while supporting safety, quality, productivity, and goals.
• Monitor inventory accuracy through transactions, cycle counts, audits, and discrepancy reconciliations.
• Partner with Production, Scheduling, Purchasing, Quality, and Operations to resolve shortages and optimize workflows.
