Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) is seeking a Stores Attendant B to support the Material Services organization by managing material accountability, storeroom operations, and storage yards. The role is entry-level with ongoing training and supervision, offering hands-on exposure to warehouse workflows.

You will learn material receiving, inventory control, and shipping processes, including use of Maximo, forklifts, and packing procedures, while ensuring safe handling and accurate records.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 1 year in inventory control, material handling, warehousing, or related work.
• Basic computer skills; Maximo, Excel and Word preferred.

Responsibilities

• Issue material with proper authorization and process records.
• Inspect received material for quantity and condition; initiate receipt records.
• Report irregularities and abnormal conditions.
• Identify, sort and record material returned; place usable material in stock and sort non-usable material.
• Operate computer terminals, printers, and related equipment supporting a materials management system.
• Prepare and pack material for shipment or storage; may include hazardous material handling as required.
• Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, hoists, and trucks.
• Assist supervisor with maintaining efficient storage of materials and inventory levels.
• Assist colleagues and perform similar or less skilled work.
• Follow Company safety rules and procedures.
