American Heavy Plates is hiring a Materials Handler to assist in our rapid growth. This role will load and process orders for shipment and handle incoming orders, with room for growth in logistics and related responsibilities.

The position requires basic computer and math skills, attention to detail, and the ability to operate overhead cranes and forklifts as needed to move steel within a manufacturing facility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 6 months to 1 year related experience preferred.
• Basic computer and math skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Operate ground controlled overhead cranes to lift, move and position steel.
• Load outgoing shipments onto trucks.
• May be required to use forklift or other material handling equipment.
• Perform staging and inspection of materials before shipping.
• Verify orders for completeness and possible damage.
• Log shipments and forward paperwork in a timely manner.
