Job summary

Oregon Steel Mills LLC is seeking a Heat Treat Material Handler to safely manage steel plate in a heavy industrial setting. The role includes data entry, crane and forklift operation, and 12-hour rotating shifts in a fast-paced environment.

Starting wage is $25.00/hour with monthly incentive bonus opportunities. Benefits include comprehensive medical, dental, vision, 401k with match, and paid vacation/holidays from day one.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and follow procedures and technical manuals.
• Comfortable with data entry into computer systems and overhead crane coordination.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical labor in a 12-hour shift.

Responsibilities

• Use remotely controlled overhead cranes to stack and unstack steel plate.
• Load and unload steel plate on conveyor systems and onto trucks/rail cars.
• Cut and prepare plate samples with burning equipment and grinders for testing.
• Tag, mark, and record steel plate data in computer systems.
• Operate forklift and perform duties as directed by supervisor.
