Job summary

Louisiana Fish Fry, Ltd. is seeking a dedicated Material Handler to safely move, store, and supply raw materials, packaging, and finished goods across the plant.

You will use forklifts and pallet jacks, uphold inventory accuracy, and follow safety and GMP standards to keep production running smoothly. Responsibilities include using handheld scanners, cycling inventory, and labeling materials for efficient workflow.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to read and understand basic instructions, labels, and work orders.
• Basic math skills for counting, inventory, and material verification.
• Ability to safely operate or learn material handling equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Strong attention to detail and safety.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Cross-train in other areas to support absences, vacations, and operational needs.
• Learn and use handheld scanners and inventory systems.
• Supply production with packaging materials and return unused materials to storage with proper labeling, wrapping, and counts.
• Move, load, and unload materials and trucks as needed.
• Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts and FIFO practices.
• Keep packaging warehouses and storage areas clean, organized, and properly stocked.
• Report low inventory, damaged materials, equipment issues, and other operational concerns to management.
• Maintain the integrity of food-contact packaging materials.
• Follow all safety, food safety, GMP, regulatory, and company quality standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
