Job summary

Volex is seeking an entry-level Materials Expediter to keep purchase orders moving from placement to stock, ensuring parts are available for kitting on schedule. The role supports Buyers and Receiving/Stockroom teams in a regulated electronics manufacturing environment (AS9100 / ISO 13485) and serves as a development path toward a Buyer role.

The position emphasizes open order follow-up, supplier coordination, and proactive problem-solving to maintain material flow and production readiness.

Qualifications

• Clear, professional phone and email communication.
• Strong follow-through and ability to track many open items at once.
• Working knowledge of Excel and Outlook; familiarity with MRP/ERP systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Open order management: maintain open PO report and track need dates and statuses.
• Expediting and escalation: contact suppliers to confirm deliveries and escalate issues with clear summaries.
• Receiving, inspection and kitting flow: monitor inbound shipments and move material through receipt and put-away.
• Reporting and continuous improvement: produce weekly status reports and suggest process improvements while following AS9100/ISO13485 requirements.
