General Responsibilities:

Perform field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials (e.g., soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel). Communicate with project managers, engineering technicians, client representatives, contractors, and others regarding site, project, and testing requirements. Transport samples with documentation to the laboratory for analysis. Prepare and submit reports of data and observations. Maintain equipment, vehicles, and work areas. Assist with scheduling and dispatch of technicians. Adhere to safety standards.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Perform testing, observation, and inspection as directed following training and procedures.
2. Document findings clearly and accurately.
3. Analyze data to verify accuracy before reporting.
4. Communicate findings to Project Manager and team.
5. Possess experience in multiple testing and inspection areas.
6. Train lower-level technicians.
7. Supervise activities of other technicians as needed.
8. Interact with clients and site personnel on behalf of the Project Manager.
9. Assist in developing testing and inspection scopes.
10. Maintain equipment calibration and operation.
11. Perform advanced fieldwork and support project management.
12. Plan, schedule, and dispatch technicians based on skills and project needs.
13. Coordinate pre-dispatch activities with managers.
14. Track projects and data in the CMELMS system.
15. Communicate project status and timelines to clients.
16. Follow safety protocols and report issues.
17. Maintain quality standards across projects.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5-10 years of relevant experience or equivalent training.
• Proficiency with laptops, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
• ACI certification in areas such as Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I, Concrete Strength Testing Technician, or Radiation Safety/Nuclear Density Gauge operation.
• Successful completion of internal safety certifications.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable violations.

Preferred Certifications:

• NICET Level III in Construction Materials Testing or Geotechnical categories.
• ICC certifications in structural and fireproofing categories.
• AWS Senior Certified Welding Inspector (SCWI).
• ASNT Level III in NDT areas.
