Job summary

UL Solutions in Northbrook, IL is seeking a project-focused engineer to join our Component Products division. This hybrid role requires three days on-site in Northbrook, IL, with responsibilities spanning project scoping, client communication, and coordination of testing and documentation.

You will work with clients to discuss technical issues, ensure UL requirements are met, and lead laboratory activities by preparing data sheets, scheduling technicians, and delivering clear reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, chemical, or materials engineering.
• Professional experience in materials development, testing, or similar preferred.
• Ability to communicate with customers and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Determines project scope, develops a preliminary plan of investigation, and determines project specifications by analyzing client input and data.
• Projects may include travel to conduct or witness tests at client sites and promote UL services.
• Communicates with clients to discuss technical issues, project cost, and schedule.
• Coordinates laboratory activities and supervises technicians to meet completion dates.
• Prepares data sheets and reports and ensures UL requirements are addressed.
• Coordinates administrative aspects of project management and communicates results to clients.
