Job summary

Terracon in Angleton, TX is seeking an experienced department leader to supervise multiple projects, oversee proposals, and ensure work aligns with client requirements and company policies. You will manage staff, safety, quality, and timely delivery while cultivating client relationships and business opportunities.

The role requires a technical Bachelor’s degree with substantial supervisory experience, with Master’s or PhD preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline with 8 years’ practice experience; or 12 years’ related experience in lieu of degree.
Master’s degree or PhD is preferred.
Previous supervisory experience is required.

Responsibilities

Prepare proposals and cost estimates with varying complexity.
Direct short-range business development to ensure adequate fees for payroll.
Plan recruitment, training, mentoring, and development of department staff.
Prepare and execute the department annual business plan.
Monitor key metrics: revenue growth, staff utilization, billing, and profitability.
Develop awareness of project risks and mitigation per company policies.
Lead safety initiatives and promote a safe work environment.
Ensure consistency in quality standards of projects and proposals.
Perform other duties as assigned.
