Responsibilities

  • Order, receive, stock, and distribute supplies.
  • Maintain accurate inventory, records, expiration dates, and lot numbers.
  • Prepare and stage supplies for procedures.
  • Receive shipments and resolve discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with vendors on orders, backorders, returns, and credits.
  • Monitor supply needs and report shortages promptly.
  • Maintain clean, organized storage areas.
  • Assist with inventory counts, recalls, audits, cost-containment.
  • Follow safety, infection prevention, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide excellent service to patients, physicians, staff.

Position Summary

The Materials Coordinator is responsible for managing the ordering, receiving, inventory, and distribution of medical and surgical supplies. This position works closely with clinical staff, vendors, and leadership to ensure supplies are available for scheduled procedures while maintaining accurate inventory, cost controls, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Order, receive, stock, and distribute medical and surgical supplies.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels, records, expiration dates, and lot numbers.
  • Prepare and stage supplies for scheduled procedures.
  • Receive shipments and resolve ordering or delivery discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with vendors regarding orders, backorders, returns, and credits.
  • Monitor supply needs and communicate shortages or potential issues promptly.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and efficient storage areas.
  • Assist with inventory counts, recalls, audits, and cost-containment initiatives.
  • Follow all safety, infection prevention, and regulatory requirements.
