Job summary

Evergreen Goodwill of Northwest Washington is seeking a Material Handler Supervisor to oversee the flow of donated goods through the production area, assist in acquiring materials for production, and manage salvage and trash removal. The role supports the mission by generating revenue to fund program services, with a pay rate of $23.97/hour.

You will coordinate dock and staging activities, lead a team, audit material movement decisions, and ensure safety and efficiency across production areas.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalency preferred.
• 1 year production or warehouse experience with material handling.
• Minimum 6 months to 1 year supervisory experience.
• Familiarity with dock equipment, lifting and handling techniques.
• Ability to work and lead in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the efforts of the Dock and Staging staff with production areas, transportation, and the Production Manager.
• Maintain a good working relationship with other production departments.
• Write periodic performance reviews for all reporting personnel.
• Audit quality decisions of material moving to salvage and to the production floor.
• Maintain a clean work environment.
• Uphold safe work practices in support of a safety culture through awareness and observation; assist in safety training of employees.
• Oversee baling of salvage textiles.
• Oversee scrap metal operation.
• Requisition production supplies as needed and maintain inventories on hand.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Consistent and safe execution of duties associated with forklift operation when certified to Seattle Goodwill standards.*
