Job summary

U.S. LUMBER in Duncan, SC is seeking a 1st Shift Material Handler (Forklift Operator) to safely operate forklifts and process orders. Hours are 10am-7pm, Monday to Friday, with an hourly rate of $19.

Load, unload, and stage material while keeping the warehouse organized and compliant with safety standards. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, plus a 401(k) with company match.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year warehouse distribution experience.
• Engineered Lumber experience preferred.
• Forklift experience and certification preferred but not required.
• Basic math and analytical skills required.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts or other machinery to complete tasks including loading/unloading, moving, staging, and transporting material.
• Band, wrap, and tape product as needed.
• Maintain clean, organized warehouse areas and ensure correct product location.
• Collaborate with Supervisors and staff to complete workload efficiently.
• Provide outstanding service with attention to detail and timely completion of work.
• Assist with inventory variances, order accuracy, and track/trace issues.
• Read tickets and product codes to pull orders accurately.
• Learn to use a chainsaw and Holtec Industrial Saw.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

• Safely operate forklifts or other machinery (chainsaw) in order to complete assigned tasks including loading and unloading, moving, staging, pulling orders and transporting material. Band, wrap, and tape product as needed.
• Maintains condition of Warehouse work area, e.g. free of trash, product in correct location and organized, swept floors.
• Work cooperatively and productively with Supervisors and other employees in order to complete required workload.
• Provide and inspire outstanding service to customers by maintaining attention to detail, accuracy, quality and completing assigned work in a timely manner.
• Assist with inventory variances, order accuracy and track and trace issues.
• Reading and understanding tickets and the various codes for products.
• Must learn how to use a chainsaw and Holtec Industrial Saw.
• Must be able to read a tape measure. Accurately pull daily orders.

Required credentials:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one (1) year warehouse distribution experience.
• Engineered Lumber experience is preferred.
• Forklift experience and forklift certification preferred but not required.
• Must have basic math and analytical skills.
