Job summary

U.S. Lumber is hiring a 1st Shift Material Handler (Forklift Operator) in Duncan, SC. Shift is 10am–7pm, Monday through Friday, with an $17/hour pay. Responsibilities include locating, pulling, staging materials, operating forklifts, packaging shipments, and keeping the warehouse organized.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, at least 1 year warehouse distribution experience, and basic math skills. Forklift experience and certification are preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with forklift operators to locate, pull, and stage materials for outgoing orders.
• Safely operate forklifts or other machinery and assist with loading, unloading, and transporting material.
• Maintain clean, organized warehouse area and proper locations.
• Work with Supervisors and others to complete workload and ensure accuracy.
• Provide attentive service, accuracy, and timely completion of tasks.
• Assist with inventory variances, order accuracy, and traceability.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

• Collaborate with forklift operators to efficiently locate, pull, and stage materials for outgoing orders. Safely package and secure shipments.
• Safely operate forklifts or other machinery (chainsaw) in order to complete assigned tasks including loading and unloading, moving, staging, pulling orders and transporting material. Band, wrap, and tape product as needed.
• Maintains condition of Warehouse work area, e.g. free of trash, product in correct location and organized, swept floors.
• Work cooperatively and productively with Supervisors and other employees in order to complete required workload.
• Provide and inspire outstanding service to customers by maintaining attention to detail, accuracy, quality and completing assigned work in a timely manner.
• Assist with inventory variances, order accuracy and track and trace issues.
• Reading and understanding tickets and the various codes for products.
• Must learn how to use a chainsaw and Holtec Industrial Saw.
• Must be able to read a tape measure. Accurately pull daily orders.

Required credentials:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one (1) year warehouse distribution experience.
• Engineered Lumber experience is preferred.
• Forklift experience and forklift certification preferred but not required.
• Must have basic math and analytical skills.
