Job summary

Nebraska Ash is seeking a Material Handler Foreman to supervise crews, operate equipment, and ensure safe, efficient loading, shipping and ticketing of ash products at a power-plant site. You will oversee schedules, coordinate daily operations, and maintain safety standards.

Required are a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of mechanics/maintenance experience, plus a valid driver's license. Wages are commensurate with experience and paid training is provided.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1 year of mechanical maintenance/repairs experience or an equivalent combination of education and training.
  • Valid Driver’s License and insurability.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work at heights.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise Material Handlers and provide training as needed.
  • Oversee daily loading, moving, shipping and ticketing of ash products.
  • Ensure safe operation of loaders and other equipment.
  • Coordinate with Plant Operations & Maintenance Lead on projects and timelines.
  • Maintain safety standards and housekeeping at the site.
  • Perform routine maintenance checks and basic repairs as required.

Job Summary
Nebraska Ash is looking for a high performing, results-oriented Material Handler Foreman to lead and perform safe and efficient equipmentoperationsforloading,moving,shippingandticketing ash products at our locationsas well as assuring schedules and coverage are maintained. Must abide by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely.Must be able to work normal day hours, generally between 6 am to 6 pm, averaging 40 to 50 hours a week; occasional Saturday or Sunday work may be required; hours may vary based on daily loadingor disposalrequirements. This position willbe located at apower plant which requires the applicant to pass a background check plus a pre-employment physical with drug testing and back screening.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

OverseesMaterial Handlers andprovides guidance and training asdirected asneeded.

Communicates with Plant Operations & Maintenance Lead of potential problems, status and timeline of projects, assures work is completed timely and safely.

Operates and ensures safe operation of rubber tire front end loader, skid loader, Shuttle wagonand other equipment used to load trucks,and railcars.

Assures appropriate tickets are written for ordersaccording to requirements.

Works withcustomers andappropriate personnel to identify and plandaily operations.

Assures equipment is maintained according to safety standards.

Provides work direction, guidance and support when needed.

Assures the scaleoffice, shopand equipment are cleaned on a regular basis.

Responsible for making sure checks are done on brakes, tires, springs, engine oil, etc.on a daily basis, makes sure required maintenance such as greases, oil changes,tire changes, and other maintenance is completed as needed.

Other duties may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and
  • 1-year previous experience performing mechanical maintenance & repairs on vehicles and/or equipment; or
  • an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Valid Driver’s License and be insurable under the company insurance program.

Qualifications:

  • Ability toperformbasic maintenance and repairof equipment as needed.
  • Ability tooversee and train other personnel.
  • Ability to train others in proper Safety protocols.
  • Ability to read and comprehend documents related to the job, such as scale tickets, SDS sheets, equipment manuals and the company safety manual.
  • Basic computer skillsrequired.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and climb to height of 100 feet.

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must have a good sense of detail to work and maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Must be able to distinguish between safe and unsafe conditions.
  • Must be ableto delegate tasks to othersand work well in a team environment.
