Job summary

Colonial Group in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a Material Handler to support operations by moving materials and finished products to designated areas using pallet jack, forklift, order picker, and RF scanner.

Typical schedule is 2:00 PM–10:00 PM, Monday–Friday, with overtime Monday–Saturday. Responsibilities include loading/unloading trucks, stocking bulk storage, replenishing workstations, transferring finished products, and operating pallet jacks and forklifts. Forklift certification is required.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED or equivalent required.
  • Forklift certification required.
  • Material handling experience preferred.
  • Able to operate pallet jack, forklift, order picker and Drexel.
  • Able to work accurately from verbal and written instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Operates a variety of powered, industrial equipment.
  • Loads and unloads trucks.
  • Uses a hand scanner.
  • Picks-up incoming materials from the Receiving dock.
  • Unloads and puts away stock in the Bulk storage area.
  • Provides replenishment materials to workstations in a timely manner.
  • Pulls and stocks correct product to appropriate boxes and pick locations.
  • Transfers finished products to designated areas.
  • Stacks empty skids and pallets; operates pallet jack.
  • Reports problems to manager.

Job description

Pay: $18.50/hour (plus an additional $1.50 shift differential)

Schedule: Monday through Friday - 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM

Overtime Schedule: Monday through Saturday - 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM

Job Summary

Supports Operations by moving materials and finished products to designated areas in the facility with a variety of powered industrial equipment.

Essential Job Functions *
  • Operates a variety of powered, industrial equipment
  • Loads and unloads trucks
  • Ability to use a hand scanner
  • Picks-up incoming materials from the Receiving dock
  • Unloads and puts away stock in the Bulk storage area
  • Provides replenishment materials to workstations in a timely manner
  • Pulls and stocks correct product to appropriate boxes and pick locations
  • Transfers finished products to designated areas
  • Stacks empty skids and pallets in designated areasOperates a manual and/or motorized pallet jack
  • Uses knowledge and experience to resolve basic operating problems; reports other problems to manger

Education & Experience
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Competencies – Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Material handling experience is strongly preferred.
  • Forklift Certification required.
  • Familiarity with part numbering systems is a plus.
  • Able to operate a pallet jack, forklift, order picker and Drexel.
  • Able to work accurately from verbal and written instructions.

  • Hand-held RF Scanner, manual/motorized pallet jack, Powered Industrial Equipment
Work Environment and Physical Demands
Work Environment

Material Handler: Must be forklift operation certified. Standing on concrete floors up to 8 hrs/day. Exposure to loud noise. Functional vision and hearing required.

Physical Demands

Material Handler: Medium - Heavy, lifting up to 70 lbs.
