Job summary

Johnstone Supply, a leading HVACR parts distributor, is hiring a Material Handler I for our New Orleans area operations. Responsibilities include receiving, picking, packing, and shipping products, using a forklift and RF scanner, and maintaining accurate inventory records.

Must pass forklift certification and be able to lift up to 50 pounds while complying with safety standards. The role emphasizes teamwork, adherence to procedures, and effective communication in a fast-paced warehouse

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; 0–1 year of related experience or training.
Forklift certification required or willingness to obtain on the job.
Experience with a picker, forklift, RF scanner, and inventory management systems preferred.
English proficiency essential for safety and communication.

Responsibilities

Operate power equipment (forklift, pallet jack) to locate and move products safely.
Receive, unload, and verify shipments; ensure accuracy against packing lists.
Scan barcodes, print labels, and update inventory records.
Pick, pack, and palletize orders; prepare shipments for transport.
Maintain clean, organized work areas; follow safety rules and SOPs.
Participate in inventory counts and perform related tasks as needed.
