Job summary

Johnstone Supply LLC, North America’s leading HVACR wholesale distributor, is seeking a Material Handler I to receive, fill, and ship products accurately in Taylor, MI. You will operate power equipment, stock shelves, and keep documentation up to date to support efficient warehouse operations.

The role emphasizes safety, adherence to procedures, and teamwork with colleagues and customers. A GED and forklift certification or willingness to obtain one are required, with on‑the‑job training

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; 0–1 year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with a picker, forklift, RF scanner, and inventory management systems.

Responsibilities

Operates power equipment (forklift, pallet jack, walkie rider) safely to locate and move products.
Receives product by unloading trucks and preparing items for storage.
Inspects shipments for damage and verifies quantities against packing lists.
Labels and scans products to ensure correct stock numbers and labeling accuracy.
Picks, packs, and prepares orders for shipment, minimizing damage.
Documents shipment of hazardous materials and ensures proper paperwork.
Maintains stock accuracy through routine cycle counts and inventory checks.
Keeps work area clean and adheres to safety policies and procedures.
