Job description

This person will be required to operate forklifts and pallet jacks.

WORKING HOURS:

Monday - Friday, 7 AM - 4 PM, with a one-hour lunch, and potential for overtime.

WORK SITE:

Onsite only in Newark.

COMPENSATION:

Final rate to be determined at offer/acceptance.

DURATION:

One-year contract with potential for conversion to FTE within twelve months, based on business need, budget approval, and performance.

INTERVIEW PROCESS:

Phone call and/or onsite interview with floor area supervisors.

Job Summary

Perform activities related to the timely and efficient movement of materials (receipt, handling, storage, shipment) in a fast-paced production environment. Maintain a clean and safe work environment, meet productivity metrics, and adhere to all company and departmental policies. Acquire job skills and learn company policies and procedures to complete routine tasks under limited supervision. Work on routine assignments requiring limited judgment, with minimal decision-making roles.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The incumbent may perform other function-related activities as required by business needs:

  • Perform physical activities related to unloading, storage, picking, labeling, packaging, and shipping of materials.
  • Repetitively assemble company's products into complete packages, including software, medical or pharmaceutical products, PC boards, accessories, manuals, operating instructions, and data sheets. May include other packaging tasks like labeling, operating small equipment, organizing manuals, counting, sorting, and box formation or breakdown. Maintain related records to comply with government standards.
  • Perform basic computer transactions/scans to receive, put away, transfer, kit, ship, or return materials.
  • Count and record departmental cycle count results to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Operate material handling equipment (MHE) safely and efficiently.
  • Support production operations and customer requirements.
Physical Demands

Employees must meet the following physical requirements:

  • Sitting, using hands to handle objects, tools, or controls.
  • Standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • Lifting/moving and carrying up to 50 pounds.
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts, vibration, and moderate noise levels.
  • Safety shoes with impact and compression protection are required.
Qualifications
Education

High School diploma or GED; an Associate's Degree is a plus.

Experience

1-3 years of relevant experience.

Skills

Required:

  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience with basic computer transactions/scans for inventory management.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow written procedures.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Teamwork ability.
  • Complete training certification and demonstrate safe operation of departmental MHE.
  • Adherence to safety and security procedures.

Beneficial:

  • Basic experience with Oracle.
  • Understanding of warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution processes.
