Job Details

Title: Material Handler I

Department: Pressroom

Reports to: Supervisor

Position Summary

Moves materials manually from machinery or to machinery, and from presses to pallets.

Responsibilities

• Read work orders to determine materials to be moved.
• Load and unload materials from pallets by hand.
• Transport materials from storage or work sites to designated areas.
• Attach identification tags or labels to materials or mark container information.
• Stack materials into bundles and band together, using wrist flexing motion.
• Clean work area, perform minor repairs, and assist machine operators.
• Perform basic clerical functions as needed.
• Assist with equipment setup.
• Help crew in web up of press.
• May lead or train other material handlers.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures, including handling hazardous waste and lockout/tagout rules.
• Perform other duties and participate in projects as assigned.
