Job summary

Chicago Tube and Iron Company is seeking a Material Handler to support warehouse operations in Ankeny, IA. The role involves loading/unloading, pulling and packing orders, and preparing shipments using powered equipment.

You will enter data into the computer and help maintain accurate inventory. The position requires at least 1 year in warehouse work, familiarity with heavy equipment, and basic math/computer skills.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in warehouse operations.
• Preferred experience with heavy equipment.
• Metal distribution or related metal industry experience preferred.
• Knowledge of computers and good math skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Able to walk/stand for 8 hours; bending, reaching, and twisting.
• Noise, chemicals, and moving machinery in a non-temperature controlled warehouse environment; PPE required.

Responsibilities

• Pull material to fill customer orders using powered industrial truck, side loader, or overhead crane.
• Pack, band, tag, and stage material for shipment.
• Enter order information into the computer and complete paperwork.
• Load orders onto trucks for delivery and unload inbound material when required.
• Relocate stock and inspect stock for tolerance as needed.
• Perform safety checks and housekeeping in the work area.
