Job summary

Chicago Tube and Iron Company is seeking a Material Handler to load, unload, and assemble customer orders within a warehouse in Romeoville, IL. The role involves operating saws and handling equipment such as forklifts, cherry pickers, side loaders, and overhead cranes to move material and prepare shipments.

Candidates should have basic math and computer skills, and the ability to read blueprints is a plus. The job requires 6–8 hour shifts with the possibility of physically demanding activity

Qualifications

• Good mechanical aptitude; manufacturing or fabrication experience is a plus.
• Experience using standard shop tools and inspection measuring tools.
• Overhead cranes, forklifts, side loaders, saws, banding or order packing experience is preferred but not required.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Ability to read blueprints or shop drawings is a plus.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk 6–8 hours per day.
• Ability to regularly maneuver up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload materials and assemble orders for shipment.
• Operate saw, or other equipment to process, package, and load.
• Move material in the warehouse using forklift, cherry picker, side loader, or overhead crane.
• Receive/inspect and verify material counts as needed.
